Crafting the Viking Warrior and Unleashing the Raven

In this blog post, I will delve into the process of creating the concept art for Bloodaxe, a formidable Viking warrior. Drawing inspiration from extensive research, references from games such as God of War and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and the expertise of industry artists, I meticulously crafted a design that captures the essence of a realistic Viking character.

The character design of Bloodaxe focuses on intricate details, including meticulously crafted armour, leather, and skin textures. To achieve a lifelike appearance, I incorporated hair cards for the character’s hair, beard, and fur, ensuring a level of realism that is essential for an immersive gaming experience.

Additionally, the inclusion of a raven companion for Bloodaxe adds depth and narrative to the character. The raven serves not only as a visual element but also plays a significant role in the character’s story, serving as a loyal and cunning ally throughout the game.

Bloodaxe – Concept Art

Throughout the pre-production phase, I drew upon my research and references to refine the concept art, constantly iterating and seeking feedback from peers and the community through platforms like Discord channels. This iterative process allowed me to enhance the design and ensure that Bloodaxe embodies the essence of a powerful Viking warrior.

By combining historical accuracy, mythical elements, and artistic creativity, I aim to bring Bloodaxe to life as an iconic character in the realm of Viking-inspired RPG games. Through a meticulous production pipeline and dedication to excellence, I am confident that the final result will exceed expectations and serve as a solid portfolio piece for future endeavours in the gaming industry.
